I think that the story of the rings being forged is truly an interesting one and I suggest you look it up.

Sauron's betrayal to Celebrimbor is amazing ... Celebrimbor as we know forged the three Elven rings and when he heard of Sauron's secret forging of the one he sent the three away ... Sauron killed him. There's so much deep passion there. The evil and the good, and the confusion .. ahh I love it. It's so awesome.
