I think it would help back up the Lord of the Rings, for those who haven't read The Hobbit, or any of the books for that matter. I not being one of them can say Yay wooo Frodo! But so many out there say that he is a wimp and a jerk. Well, sure he NEVER would have made it to Mt. Doom without Sam, but you have to look at the whole picture. Who in the world could have borne the Ring upon themselves in the first place? You know? It isn't that miniscule, it's quite a broad picture, and the people who disrespect Frodo in that sense, usually don't know what they're talking about. Now I can understand if they dislike Elijah Wood or his acting, but really taking on the role is something I cannot fathom anyway so overall I'd say he did a good job. Frodo wasn't all good but portraying him the way Tolkien intended is probably a feat that will never be accomplished. Basically, Frodo is a great person, ahem Hobbit. But, we will still look to Sam as the hero, though many don't. It's a confusing tale, but we needed Frodo in there. If Sam had tried to bare the Ring, he would have ended up the same way. Sam is the hero. But I loved Merry, and of course, Pippin. They're so... hobbity. Strider was great, I must say I preferred Strider to Aragorn [don't kill me!] Sam and Frodo needed each other. I feel like I'm repeating what Arwen said. I guess I'm really agreeing.
